Former Vipers SC midfielder Bobosi Byaruhanga over the weekend completed his move to MLS Next Pro side Austin FC II.
The Skillful midfielder joins the Next Pro side from Czech Republic MFK Vyskov on a season-long loan with a purchase option.
This was confirmed by Austin FC II on Thursday in a statement released on the club’s website.
“Announcing the first-ever Austin FC II signings is an exciting step as the team continues to build toward its inaugural season,” said Austin FC Director of Player Personnel Sean Rubio as quoted by the Austin FC website before adding;
“Bobosi, David, and Cheick are all top young players who we hope will have ample opportunity to continue their development in Austin.”
Bobosi joins his compatriots Aziz Kayondo and Musa Ramathan who were also sent out on loan from MFK Vyskov to Real Monarchs and FC Cincinnati II respectively last year.
Bobosi was integral for The Hippos as Uganda won silver in the 2021 U20 AFCON tournament held in Mauritania.
He also helped Vipers SC win the 2021/22 Uganda Premier League and subsquently won the FUFA Male Player of the Year Award in 2021.
Austin FC II competes in the MLS Next Pro League which is the third tier in the American soccer pyramid.
