The 29 year old Kenyan energetic Faith Kipyegon continued to cement her name in the athletics world as she broke world record in a period of eight days .
In Florence Italy is where Faith first broke the world record running for 3: 49:11 making her the first 1500 m woman athlete to break three minutes down . Not only did she stop at stunning Italy grabbing the world record but also at the Paris Diamond League meeting for 5000m finishing at 14:05:20 breaking the now former record holder Letesenbet Gidey from Ethiopia with 14: 06:62 leaving her in the second position , an Olympics champion also described as an amazing lady by Faith Saying she has always wanted to wanted to run after Gidey .She owns two records as a long distance runner also a world best .
“No ,I didn’t think about the World record ,I do not know how I made it .”said the Kenyan distance runner in an interview after her race .
“ I just focused on the greenlight and tried to stay relaxed and enjoy the race . I did the race and wanted to see what happens , when I saw that it was WR I was so surprised .
“ I was about giving my best. I just wanted to improve my PB , the WR wasn’t my plan .” Said Faith Kipyegon.
Gidey the former world record holder was follows by fellow Ethiopian Ejgayehu Taye in 14:13:31.
