SC Villa continued with their current decent form after beating Bright Stars 1-0 at Wankulukuku to move four points clear at the top.
Charles Bbaale scored the winning goal to ensure the Jogoos made a triumphant return to Wankulukuku after a five game forced sabbatical after hooliganism saw them sent to Lira.
The sixteen time champions started off well but missed two good chances with Bbaale and Kafumbe the culprits after being denied by Sanon Mulabi.
Jonah Kakande was introduced at the start of the second half for Kafumbe as the Jogoos sought more fire power but Bright Stars improved after the breaking asking as much questions as they were being asked.
Jackson Magera made a double change pulling off Travis Mutyaba who was lively to the surprise of Jogoos fans for Ivan Sserubiri and left back Hassan Musana for Umar Lutalo.
The move paid immediate dividends as Sserubiri set up Bbaale who curled the ball way beyond Mulabi’s fingers to send the home fans into frenzy.
Villa now have 40 points after 20 games, four better than second placed KCCA who have three games less and face limping Wakiso Giants next on Saturday at Wakiso.
Bright Stars suffered a third successive loss to stay 10th on the log with 24 points.
At Kakindu, Gaddafi and Busoga United played to a goalless draw although the latter finished the game with one man down.
Onduparaka beat visiting BUL 2-0 at Green Light stadium while UPDF enlightened survival chances with a 3-1 win over Arua Hill in Bombo.
