In April 2023 the Uganda and Africa books of records are to be launched with up to 12 languages that’s to say , English , Spanish , Italian , Germany , Korean , Mandarin , Amharic , Russian and Arabic for majority of the people to have an experience with these two books .
The master mind as well as the Director of Uganda’s book of records Alex Kayima started his research in 2004 about Uganda’s outstanding personalities in holding and breaking record in various fields of athletics , art , longtime outstanding footballers , rugby players and leaders .
Kayima says , “The book will be first of it’s kind in Uganda and Africa . I got the idea after realizing that Uganda and Africa , we don’t keep record yet they are set . All the records we have about our history and achievements are written for us by foreigners , why can’t we write our own records ? ” at Serena Hotel Kampala.
Kayima adds on saying his love for sports and recognizing those who have earned their credit inspired him to compile all the African and Ugandan record holders .
He also calls upon the Ugandan Government to support the circulation of these books because soon enough they are to circulate in various book stores for the fact that they are to be updated annually with a gala as well as awarding those who are record holders .
They have been published in the United States by Indian based publishing house Author House officially .
A number of records have been broken by Ugandans and Africans like the first Ugandan BET award winner, Grammy winner , Oscars, Olympics medalists, common wealth games record holders that’s Steven Kiprotich , Dorcas Inzikuru , Joshua Cheptegei are to feature in these books .
