Ivory Coast 3-1 Uganda
Senegal 3-0 DR Congo

Uganda Cranes failed to reach the quarter finals of the Africa Nations Championship for the sixth time after falling 3-1 to Ivory Coast in the final group game of the 2022 edition.
The Cranes went into the game top of the group with four points but like in South Africa 2014, they bowed out.
Sankara Karamoko gave the West Africans an early lead with a diving header in the 12th minute before Vignon Outro doubled the lead in the 27th minute.

Moses Waiswa cut the deficit in the 31st minute converting from his spot after his KCCA teammate Rogers Mato was fouled in the area as the first half ended with the Cranes down.
Micho made instant change at halftime throwing on attacking midfielders Travis Mutyaba and Titus Ssematimba for Frank Ssebuufu who had a header saved early on and Karim Watambala.

That saw the Cranes dominate proceedings with Karisa, Mato and Ssematimba coming close from Mutyaba rattled the cross bar with a free kick and also forced Folly in Ivory Coast into a fine save.

Any hope of snatching a leveller where quashed in the 78th minute when man of the match Karamoko beat the Cranes defence with his skill and set up Aubin Kouame Kramo who sealed the victory with a well taken goal.

Alionzi Nafian who has had a fine tournament made two telling saves late on to keep the score line respectable.
With Senegal beating DR Congo 3-0 in the other group game, Uganda finished third in the group and exited as usual.
