I was hosted on a talk-show recently and argued of how Uganda`s rap music has sometimes been dwindling because they are not competitive enough to create aroma around the rappers.
However, there have been a new crop of rappers who are incredibly talented and are destined to take over the Uganda`s Music take thus prompting us for the on-going series of the Fast-Rising Ugandan rappers to watch out for in 2023 and we have so-far profiled four rappers including Zedmonk Ssabatontomi, Kalanzi, D`lex Ddumba and Stone Age Ug.
All the above and more to get profiled have proven that they are set to takeover the Uganda`s Rap game in 2023.
Now, let’s see the fifth rapper on our list.
Taurus Mcee
Taurus Mcee born David Kiwumulo is a Ugandan rapper, songwriter graphics designer and entreprenuer born on the 21 st of April 1997.
With Hip hop culture Philanthropy and Pan-Africanism at the core of his influence, he blends Luganda and English to make new school hip-hop trap and afro rap infused music.
In the first two active years of his solo career, he has recorded an album and won the Club Evoke Midnight drum rap and poetry competition in May 2019 and featured on the popular “Uganda Yaffe All star remix” with Baboon Forest Entertainment CEO GNL Zamba.
With an E.P on the way “OFF BOOK” Taurus mcee is not just the new kid on the block or the new wave but the future of rap music in Africa with electrifying singles like “If You Know You Know”, ” Lujjemu” and “Kiika”.
Taurus Mcee has recently signed a deal and is working with the Baboon Forest Entertainment company as a graphics designer, content creator and show host.
