Pearl Thusi the South African actress hosted the Sound city MVP award 2023 that happened in Lagos Nigeria Eko Convention on 11 , February 2023 with the stage being put on fire by fabulous performances form Kizz Daniel , Bad boy Tims , Zuchu.
Black sherif a young singer and rapper from Ghana was nominated in the best Hip hop artist category this year with a number of amazing rappers like Kaligraph Jones, Blacqbonez ,MI, Nasty C,AKA, Ladipoe , Chyn , psycho and vector.
Black Sherif scooped this award with the song “Kwaku the Traveler” which was released in May 2022.
Black Sherif started his music career around May 2021 when his first project “First Sermon” went onto the air waves and well received due to his uniqueness , and since then he has never looked back .
As for the Sound City MVP Awards, they’ve bern happening since 2016 with their first host by Nigerian comedian Basket Mouth and these awards have been pushed by Sound City TV and radio giving outstanding African artists their flowers and credit in various categories.
African Artist of the year was scooped by Burna boy as Best African DJ went to DJ Maphorisa.
