Performing for the second time in Uganda, the acclaimed South African star Cassper Nyovest is set to perform alongside Sol Generation’s Bensoul, Rwanda’s soul singer Mike Kaihura, and our very own Joshua Baraka, Azawi, and more for the perfect afro house music experience.
“Blankets and Wine is excited to introduce this new feature-The Sound Lab, for an all-around unfiltered experience of the house music genre. We can’t wait to vibe and groove at this 29th edition,” said Chantal Ngenzi, General Manager of House of DJs at the recently concluded Blankets and Wine press conference.
What has cassper been up to?
Cassper Nyovest has been focused on his philanthropic endeavours and growing his business that his fans are left to wonder if they’ll ever hear any new music from him.
Just this past month, Cassper, real name Refiloe Phoolo collaborated with the QVDB Foundation and Generosity Water to open a well at the Sol Plaatjie Primary School – helping in aiding water scarcity in his hometown.
Before then, Nyovest appeared in Talib Kweli and Madlib’s Liberation 2, seemingly partnered with Vth Season, and has been enjoying life while also promoting his alcoholic beverage, Billiato. As he appears to have a lot on his plate, rest assured that the fresh prince of Maftown hasn’t forgotten about the music.
At the top of April, Cassper and his trusted producer, Alie Keys visited a remote location with non-other than Klerksdorp emcee, MagleraDoeBoy to make music away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Seeing that both hail from the North West, fans were hoping for a collaboration between the rappers which seems to have materialized.
But that’s not all. Cassper is looking to deliver some quality music and went on to recruit one of SA’s finest producers.
Tweezy has had a phenomenal career through the years, collaborating with SA Hip Hop heavyweights like AKA, Riky Rick, as well as Cassper in his 2020 album, Any Minute Now.
The two linked up recently for a studio session, one that Tweezy described as a “classic.” Sharing photos on his Instagram page, Cassper was in the zone preparing music with Tweezy by his side. “This one is for the books 🎶,” captioned the Family Tree CEO, fueling his fans’ excitement over what is expected to be something unforgettable.
