Shemy Hassan aka Shemy B also known as Scoba by his” homies” is a rapper, actor and
songwriter who was born and raised in Mutungo Biina by a single mother.
According to Mdundo.com, an entertainment blog in Uganda, it states how Shemy B`s music career began in 2010 when he got interested in Freestyle sessions and street battling and that ever since then he is significantly contributing to the underground Hip-hop including an album called Ebikadde Mu Bipya.
Ebikadde Mu Bipya is the second studio album by Uganda-based Rap Musician Shemy B, released on 31st – August – 2018. The album was nominated by 256 Hip-Hop Awards for best Hip-Hop album of the year 2019.
It is said that the United forces of Hip-Hop maniacs inspired this Mutungo raw spitter to put up this masterpiece after overly demanding for something new from him by which he had last dropped an album way back in 2015.
Shemy B says that this album showcases his genius and abilities on the mic. He waxes hardcore on tracks like Ssababanda while he reflects on his journey growing up with siblings and friends on Webale.
His lyricism reflects contemporary slang on the streets of Mutungo. The album is infused with the soulful voices and strings from Herbert Sensamba and Akongo. The experience adds to the overall sonic capabilities of the album. The word play, metaphors and bars are out there on a different level.
